Mobius forms part of the major $625 million redevelopment of Chatswood Chase by Vicinity Centres, introducing a bold hospitality space into the centre’s renewed dining precinct. The café is organised around circular geometry. A stainless steel coffee bar incorporating multiple Modbar espresso system anchors the plan, while sculptural seating lounges formed using the AND Bench by Vondom , designed by Fabio Novembre and supplied locally by KE-ZU, create informal gathering zones within the open mall concourse. A vibrant orange epoxy floor defines the café footprint and establishes a strong graphic presence within the surrounding retail environment. Large circular ceiling features incorporating NEWMAT stretch membranes introduce softly illuminated discs that reinforce the geometry of the seating below and give the café a strong visual identity within the mall. Additional seating includes Butter Chairs by Design By Them, bringing contemporary Australian furniture into the interior.\ Delivered within an accelerated eight-week construction programme by SHEETH, the project demonstrates how strong geometry, colour and lighting can transform a compact retail tenancy into a distinctive café destination within one of Sydney’s most significant retail upgrades.
