Loopcreative has designed the sixth hospitality project for the Poernomo family, a collaborative effort with culinary brothers Ronald, Arnold, and Reynold. The establishment, named KOI after their mother, features a Cocktail Bar, Chef’s Table, and Dessert Bar. The space boasts a dynamic spatial plan with two entrances, the Cocktail Bar and Dessert Bar. The concrete shell is adorned with terrazzo flooring and a perforated timber ceiling, along with Japanese Inax tiles for accents. The Chef’s Table is a bespoke design  that uses a series of hot-rolled steel tubular bars with a top of 10mm thick blackened steel with a mirror-polished edge. This reflects the technical complexity of minimal, elegant forms inspired by Reynold’s precise approach to every dish. The sculptural counter is the star of the space, forming the focal point of the restaurant, where diners can enjoy a front-row seat at the horseshoe-shaped bar and witness Reynold’s culinary performance.
