Loopcreative was hired by Crown Resorts Sydney to collaborate with a group of international Architects and Interior Designers on the Crown Resort Sydney restaurant projects including a’Mare, Nobu, Yoshi Omakase, Silks and Noodle 88. Our task was to create Issued for Tender documentation and 100% Construction Documentation drawings and specifications. We also managed RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and conducted on-site inspections while reporting regularly to the international teams via video conferencing. With the onset of COVID in 2020, this communication became even more critical.
Our team worked with design teams from the USA, Japan, Italy, and the UK, which presented challenges related to language, time zones, and differing expectations from each team. We interpreted the design and translated it into construction drawings that were compliant with Australian Standards and National Code for Construction.
The project was awarded to Tier One contractor Lend Lease, and with a locally-based team preparing the construction documentation, consistency of documentation was maintained across all of the projects. This provided Lend Lease with a benchmark set of information, ensuring consistency around construction methodology.
