loopcreative was appointed by Crown Resorts to work alongside a series of international Architects and Interior Designers to provide in-country design development, documentation and on-site construction services. This was for the Crown Sydney restaurants a’Mare, Nobu, Yoshi Omakase, Silks and Noodle 88.
Our role was to take the design and prepare Issued for Tender documentation and 100% Construction Documentation drawings and specifications. During construction we were responsible for RFIs and shop drawing reviews and on-site inspections reporting fortnightly to the international teams via video conferencing. When COVID hit in 2020, this process became an invaluable tool to convey information to the international design teams.
We were working with design teams based out of the USA, Japan, Italy and the UK with challenges in relation to Language, Time Zones, and expectations of each individual international team. Interpreting their design and translating that design into a set of construction drawings compliant with Australian Standards and National Code for Construction
The project was tendered to a Tier One contractor Lend Lease, and with one locally based team preparing the construction documentation this ensured that consistency of documentation across all of the projects. This provided the main contractor with a consistent benchmark set of information and a consistency around construction methodology.
