Following the success of VML’s award-winning Hidden Eye Test campaign, 1001 Optometry commissioned Loopcreative to develop a new flagship concept store that would establish the future retail identity of the brand. The design is inspired by the phoropter—the iconic optical instrument used during an eye examination. Like the layered sequence of lenses through which vision is progressively refined, the store is conceived as a series of overlapping architectural planes that reveal, frame and focus the customer experience. Circular forms, layered elements and precision detailing create a spatial language that is instantly recognisable while celebrating the science of vision. Engineered metallic finishes, integrated lighting and a carefully curated material palette provide a sophisticated backdrop that adapts to the changing identities of eyewear brands including Cartier, Tom Ford and IC! Berlin. Rather than competing with the product, the architecture provides a refined framework that allows each collection to have its own identity while remaining unmistakably 1001 . Developed as the prototype for a new generation of stores, the concept establishes a distinctive retail DNA that transforms the traditional optical practice into a contemporary destination for eye care and premium eyewea
